Roofers
The people who completely redid our roof, installed insulation and a new skylight last spring were excellent. They were fast and tidy, cleaning up everything. They even took our camera and gave us pictures of the finished work. We were nervous about the skylight, which had always leaked, but it's been perfect. We were also pleased to see how careful they were about safety, tying themselves on at all times. They have given us a 10 year warranty.
They came through a recommendation from friends, and we cannot say enough good things about them.
This was a costly job, but given the problems of dealing with bad roofing, I'd recommend them to anyone who wants a trouble-free experience.

Top Notch Professional
Though I've moved from Georgestown, I thought I'd follow up on recommending Jason Clancey. He re-shingled our new house in the Churchill Park area last week. He arrived with a large group of workers at 7 in the morning and worked all day to finish the job. Not a trace of garbage or waste was left behind. Even though the job was delayed by a few weeks because of weather etc., he always called to give me an update about when he could get started.
Jason is quite busy and is actually turning down work. But I'd recommend him to anyone. I wish I'd known of him a year ago before I let the clowns at R&R Contracting "work" on the roof of my last house.
Red Seal Roofing
I've had a terrible time with the people I hired for my roof. But one of the people who I consulted to troubleshoot the shoddy work is Jason Clancey of Red Seal Roofing. He identified several problems with the work that was done on my roof.
He says he has 15 yrs+ experience and "Red Seal" certified - which means he is actually an accredited roofer tradesman, which a lot of roofers are not (like my guys). He says he's worked mostly in Alberta, which has higher standards for roofing. He also offers a warranty which many don't.
I didn't actually hire him in the end, but I was impressed by his knowledge and experience.
